Give yourself (or someone you love) the gift of time and space — whether to dive deep into a creative or scholarly project, or an opportunity to refuel and rewind — in a secluded, supportive and inspiring environment alongside others.
This self-directed residency includes private bedroom and studio, shared bathroom (usually with one other resident), and access to millay facilties like living/dining space, fully-equipped kitchen, laundry room, workstation, and B&W darkroom.
Groceries/meals are NOT included; you are responsible for your own food.
We require you to have your own car if you plan on staying more than one week (with snow tires preferably!).
LENGTH AND SESSION OPTIONS
Retreats range from 4 nights/3 days to an entire month, or you can request a schedule of your own making!
Preferred arrival dates/times are Monday-Friday, 10am-2pm and include a brief orientation.
SELECTION
The Wintertide Rustic Retreat is open to all. While your application is not subject to a jury, acceptance is at the discretion of Millay administration.
FAQs
Couples are welcome and may share bedroom/studio if desired. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot welcome children and/or pets.
FOOD IS NOT INCLUDED. There are numerous grocery stores, gourmet shops and restaurants nearby.
You are free to apply for any/all of our opportunities offered by Millay Arts. Multiple applications in no way affect your eligibility for the Core Residency (our most competitive and offered free of charge), Steepletop Residency and/or Wintertide.
