NO ONE CARES: OVERCOMING INDIFFERENCE AND CREATIVE ROADBLOCKS — Kid Millions — Saturday, May 12, 2018 1-4 pm

This workshop on Composition, Improvisation and the Creative Process will examine the ways that we sabotage our creativity and productivity and will offer practical ways to overcome the roadblocks we place in our way. Using examples from his own and other artists’ catalogs Colpitts will develop a strategy for remaining creative in the face towering indifference. “No One Cares” presents a counterintuitive strategy for establishing the boundaries around your creative process that gives you the strength and inspiration to continue your work despite lack of approval, vindication or encouragement.

Kid Millions is the founder and drummer of the projects Oneida and Man Forever and has performed and collaborated with a wide range of incredible artists including Yo La Tengo, Laurie Anderson, J Spaceman, William Basinski, So Percussion, Rhys Chatham, Royal Trux, Broomberg and Chanarin, Boredoms and many more.

This workshop is part of The Sanctuary Series, that brings together artists, healers and educators in collaborative sessions that ask participants to creatively imagine desired cultural and community outcomes as well as their role within those outcomes. Held in New York City, Hudson and other locations, these are 2-3 hour workshops centered on writing or visual art-making
