Will Lawrence is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter living and working in the Hudson Valley. He has released four full-length albums of original music, touring the United States and internationally extensively over the last decade. In addition to his solo performing, Lawrence works as a touring and recording band member with many other artists, in including The Felice Brothers, John Early, Ryan Davis and the Roadhouse Band, Conor Oberst, and many more. Most recently, Lawrence was cast as a band and cast member for John Early’s Emmy Nominated HBO special, Now More Than Ever, as well as charting on Rolling Stone magazine’s Top Rock Albums of 2023 as a part of Ryan Davis and the Roadhouse Band’s album, Dancing on the Edge.
Lawrence studied to be a music teacher in college, but upon graduating, moved to New York City to find work and continue playing with the band he was performing with at the time, Mail the Horse. After many years of restaurant jobs and going broke on the road, Lawrence relocated to Upstate New York and found work on a vegetable farm and installing solar panels, while continuing to write and tour in between. Since 2016, Lawrence has steadily built upon his solo songwriting career, as well as becoming a sought-after collaborator for both studio sessions and touring. This fall, he will travel to Paris to perform with The Felice Brothers and Wesley Schultz of The Lumineers as a part of Gabriela Hearst’s stage at Paris Fashion Week, as well as upcoming 2024 tours with both John Early and the Lemon Squares and with The Felice Brothers in Europe. Lawrence is currently in the studio working on his fifth full-length album.
