Travis Lee Russ (he/they) is a Queer playwright/director from a small, blue-collar town: Kokomo, Indiana. Recent plays: AMERICA IS HARD TO SEE (accolades include Critics’ Picks from The List, Voice Magazine, and Fest Magazine; “Top 10 Plays of the Year” from New, Now, Next; “#1 Show of Edinburgh Fringe” from Fest Magazine) and GOREY: THE SECRET LIVES OF EDWARD GOREY (accolades include Critics’ Picks from The New York Times and Time Out New York; a Drama Desk nomination; seven New York Innovative Theatre Award nominations; two Henry Hewes Design Award nominations). Travis was nominated for BroadwayWorld’s 2020 Best Director Award.
Travis is an Associate Professor at Fordham University where he teaches research-based storytelling and performance. Travis earned a PhD from Rutgers University.
