Rosemarie Fiore lives and works in Morris Park, Bronx, New York. She is an abstract pyrotechnic painter, sculptor and performance artist that typically creates her own tools to harness firework smoke using fumage to create paintings on paper, canvas and asphalt. Fiore has received grants including NYSCA’s Artist Support Grant (fiscal sponsor Millay Arts), The National Endowment for the Arts, New York Foundation for the Arts, The Sally and Milton Avery Foundation and the Bronx Council for the Arts. She has attended residencies at Kohler Arts/Industry Residency, Akrai Residency, Art Omi, Yaddo, Skowhegan, MacDowell, Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program, Wave Hill Winter Workspace, Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program, Sculpture Space, AIM Fellowship, and the Bronx Museum. Her work has been exhibited at MOCA, Florida; Weatherspoon Art Museum, North Carolina; The Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, New York; SCAD Museum of Art, Georgia; Von Lintel Gallery, California; VCUarts, Virginia; Grand Arts, Missouri; Bronx Museum, New York; Queens Museum, New York; Socrates Sculpture Park, New York; Wave Hill, New York; and The Franklin Institute, Pennsylvania.
