Rachel Meuler, born in Louisville, Kentucky, is a multidisciplinary artist who has worked with drawing and painting, sculpture and installation, and costume-oriented performance art. She received her BFA in sculpture from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1999, her MFA in sculpture from SUNY Purchase in 2001, and currently lives in Astoria and works in Manhattan as an art, film, and photography teacher at Loyola School.
Meuler has been a visiting artist at Bridgewater State University, as well as an artist-in-residence at Skidmore College and the Abrons Art Center of the Henry Street Settlement. Her work is included in several slide registries, including the Drawing Center’s Viewing Program, and was recently recognized in the Dave Bown Project 2nd Semiannual Competition, and has been featured in magazines including Glasschord, Culturehall, and Pure Uncut Candy. Meuler exhibits regularly, with recent solo shows at Rabbithole Gallery in Brooklyn and Tim Faulkner Gallery in Louisville, and a two-person collaborative exhibition through Art Connects New York in Brooklyn.
