Melissa Buzzeo writes a literature of encounter, but also: descent, healing, refusal. Buzzeo’s fifth book Writing, a poetic memoir, is forthcoming from Nightboat. The Devastation, also from Nightboat, was a 2016 Lambda Literary Award Finalist in Lesbian Poetry. If I Am A Silueta is her new chapbook out of Berlin. She teaches creative writing at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and maintains a radical palm reading practice. At one time, she went to Cornell and then to Iowa. Currently she is working on a specific kind of memoir simply called Writing. She recently gave birth to Laia-Rose Athena Christine.
