Lucía is an artist whose work explores the relationship between the memory of objects used in care tasks, the feminization of labor, informal economies, and the politics of food. She aims to blur the technical and conceptual boundaries between these areas, both individually and collaboratively. Her practice includes producing objects, installations, performative rituals, and photography, with a focus on creating interactions that foster a sense of belonging. Reissig’s work is driven by the exchange of knowledge and experiences with family members, fellow sculptors, experts in fields such as cooking, economics, history, and activists. Reissig’s artistic process is rooted in personal experience and collective memory. Drawing from her background as a cleaning lady, her involvement in soup kitchens, and her work with regional street food, she is continuously thinking about domestic wisdom and economies of space and time. Her family’s immigration journey has further shaped her artistic perspective, informing her approach to understanding scale as a cultural construct. Reissig’s education includes a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Sculpture from Bard College, New York, in 2024, and the Programa de Artistas at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires (2017-2018). She has also participated in Escuela Incierta at Lugar a Dudas, Colombia (2018). Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions, including 287.5 kilos at Móvil, Buenos Aires (2023), Todo estaba sucio at the Museo Municipal de Arte Moderno de Mendoza (2022), and El trabajo invisible at Selvanegra Gallery in Buenos Aires (2018). She has also been part of numerous group exhibitions.
