Jane Strete Blood (1931–2023) grew up in Fitchburg, Massachusetts and graduated from Cushing Academy and Colby College. She married Lawrence Blood in 1956, and they raised their three children in Reading, Massachusetts. Jane earned a Master of Divinity from the Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, Massachusetts. All her life she enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, canoeing, and being in nature, especially at the family camp in Ashburnham, Massachusetts.
Jane was a published poet and ardent feminist. She authored City River Voices (West End Press, 1992) and her writing was published in Maine Times, Ourselves, South Coast Poetry Journal, and Timbrel. In the early 80s, she moved to Cambridge and became a true Cantabrigian, enjoying the culture and energy of that city.
