Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Fernando Sucari has lived and worked in New York since 2024. He studied Visual Arts at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes and completed the Artists Program at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in 2010. He has presented solo exhibitions at Jardín Oculto Gallery, Zavaleta Lab, Centro Cultural Recoleta, Big Sur Gallery, Centro Cultural de la Memoria Haroldo Conti, Local de Artes Recientes, and Linse Gallery. His work has also been featured in group exhibitions at Del Infinito Gallery, the Buenos Aires Young Art Biennial, La Fábrica, Galería ODA, and The Slip Gallery, among other venues.
He has participated in awards and competitions organized by Banco Central, Banco Itaú, Fondo Nacional de las Artes, the UADE Prize, the Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales, and the Kenneth Kemble Prize. He has received the Fondo Nacional de las Artes Creation Grant and the Oxenford Travel Grant for Artists.
Working across watercolor, drawing, and sculpture, his practice explores the intersections of biological imagery, scientific representation, and material culture. Drawing from both natural history and the built environment, he investigates how systems of knowledge shape our understanding of the body, nature, and everyday objects.
