Eric Ansel is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Interior Design at Pratt Institute is an architect licensed to practice in New York and Massachusetts. A founding partner of award-winning architecture and interiors firm, Architecture Workshop PC, Eric is an architect and artist with over 25 years’ experience in residential design and construction.
Before founding AWPC, he worked at Selldorf Architects, and Cooper Robertson & Partners, among other firms. He has also worked as a project manager on residential construction projects at the Dakota building, the San Remo and the Time-Warner building. Eric’s paintings and drawings have been exhibited in New York, Chicago, and Atlanta.
An NCARB certificate holder and AIA member, Eric’s work as a designer is deeply rooted in his background in fine arts and craft and combines pragmatism with a strong aesthetic sensibility.
Eric grew up in New England building and sailing wooden boats. He has a BFA in Painting and Drawing from Rhode Island School of Design, MArch from Pratt Institute, and in MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has been a member of the Interior Design faculty at Pratt Institute since 2007.
