My plays have been produced all over the world, including at Lincoln Center, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Steppenwolf, Soho Rep, and the West End. Recently, Stereophonic was nominated for thirteen 2024 Tony Awards (making it the most Tony-nominated play in history) and received a total of five including Best Play. Stereophonic additionally received Best Play citations from the Drama Desk, the New York Drama Critics’ Circle, the Outer Critics’ Circle and the Drama League. My new play The Blind King (Parts I and II)is a commission for The Public/NYSF.  

My writing has been featured or profiled in The GuardianThe New York Times, The New York Review of Books, Los Angeles Review of Books, LitHub, Electric Literature, American Theatre, BOMB, and The Rumpus. I’ve also written a memoir entitled Lot Six which was published by HarperCollins. 

I’m the author of two play collections: Stunning and Other Plays and 1789/1978 and a recipient of a Whiting Writers’ Award, the Steinberg Playwright Award, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. I am currently based in London.
