Caprice holds a BA from Yale, a MS from Harvard University, and an MFA in Writing from NYU, where she was a Goldwater Fellow. A recent Fellow with the Center for Fiction, her work has been supported by Jentel Arts, SAFTA, Storyknife, and others. She has been longlisted for the 2023 First Pages Prize and 2024 Granum Prize, and is the upcoming 2025 recipient of the Barbara G. Peters Fellowship for Historical Fiction. She is from traditional Wecksquaesgeek territory, Harlem, New York.
